Types of Rope End Finishes
Heat Shrink
The application of a strong, rubberised band on the end of the rope, prevents fraying and keeps the rope clean and tidy.
Soft Eye Splice
A strong spliced rope eye without a thimble. A soft eye splice creates a permanent eye loop at the end of a rope and can applied to most ropes - three strand, braid on braid & even Dyneema. Allows for a shackle or fitting to be securely fitted. Most typical use is on yachts as a halyard.
Hard Eye Splice
A thimble bound tightly into a rope splice and useful for light to medium ropes where the load & wear is low to medium.
